Conservation is very important to us. Each field has an undisturbed 6m margin in which tussocky grasses and nectar plants thrive to provide habitat and food for a huge variety of wildlife. Barn Owls hunt for food and ground nesting birds live here. Our water meadows attract wading birds for overwintering and summer breeding: Lapwing, Redshank, Curlew and Snipe are regular visitors. Brown Hares can be seen racing one another in spring - Mad March Hares!
Previously endangered Water Voles are breeding within fenced water courses that encourage reed growth (their main food source), in the raised water levels in what were previously dry ditches in the summer.
